Hey everyone. Sorry for the delay in posting. I have felt a little sick this past week & took my usual blogging time to sleep instead. Sickness is still hanging on but I am surviving. Yesterday was the first day I did not sweat, at all! It was cold & rainy & beautiful! Of course I was the only one who thought so. When I got to Sala Nidito yesterday, I walk in & I guess everyone decided to take a "rain day" because only 6 kids showed up. 6 out of 34. So we were 4 tias & 6 kids. It was a lovely relaxing morning. We took the time to make some pictures for the classroom. In the afternoon Rose & I decided to play hookey & we trufi'd* it downtown. She had to go to the post office & I wanted to shop for some more souvenirs. Man do I have a long list of people I want to buy for! I got a few more little things which I am VERY pleased with. Bolivia has makes some very cool stuff. I am most excited to give you all your souvenirs, so if you don't like it, pretend like you do.
I also bought the movie Avatar for 10 bs. [7 bs per 1 cdn] I figure that's ok. All their movies & music here are pirated. It's kinda funny to me. They sell movies here that are still in theatres in Canada. You can't even find a real copy if you try. What else to say? not much. It's been almost 5 weeks since I got here. Crazy! Pretty much halfway done.
*a trufi is a cross between a taxi & a bus. It's a car that will stop & pick people up along the way. It has a set route & you just tell the driver when you want to get off. Costs 2 bs/person. They come right by the home & take us within a few blocks of Siete Calle [basically downtown, where all the spokes come together.
